Metaphoric Associative Cards are a dream come true for helping my clients unlock the secrets from their subconscious mind. They are also often called, “OH Cards” as that is generally what a client says upon revealing the cards they chose from the deck.
Metaphoric Associative Cards were designed by two Russian psychologists, Alexander Gorobchenko and Marina Evmenchik.
How Do We Use Them?
There are 3 decks containing 90 image cards each: Mirrors, StoryTime, and Box of Chocolates. The client asks a question for which they’d like an answer, then they blindly choose cards from the deck. The number and placement of the cards depend on what the client and I have decided would be the best method for unlocking and discovering the response they are looking for. As the client turns a card face up, the visual stimulus of the image helps the client reach into their subconscious and respond with honest answers to their questions.
Using the concept of Art as a Foundation of Creativity, these cards release the creative mind to solve issues that otherwise might have seemed unsolvable. It allows the full freedom of association into a situation and response.
My job as the coach is to ask questions which can stimulate further and deeper investigation into what the card is telling the client. I do not interpret or reinterpret what the client has discovered. I may share thoughts or further questions.
These cards can be used with children as well as adults. The spontaneity and art of the cards, allows adults to escape the restraints of adulting and to become almost childlike in developing a story around the picture in front of them. We are allowed to use our imagination more than logic.
These cards can be used to help deal with trauma, conflict resolution, personal growth, goal setting, opening up the imagination and so much more.
I offer individual 90-minute sessions with the cards. Click HERE to schedule your Free 30-Minute Discovery Session and let’s discuss how this modality might be right for you!
